Baby "Sprinkle"

(** Warning** I look extremely big at almost 38 weeks and I was sweating like a pig so my hair looks terrible.)My two sister-in-laws were super sweet and held a baby shower for me and Brett. My coworker called it a sprinkle since it was not my first baby. I thought that was cute. We had a great turnout with lots of cute stuff. Scott's favorite word is cute so I'm going to overuse it. We held the festivities in my backyard with the shade of my apple tree covering us and the kids running and playing on their bikes. It was such a nice time to be able to visit with each other and eat yummy food. A huge thanks to Jennica and Ginger for hosting for me! (The people who came for my memorie's benefit were: sister-in-laws- Jennica, Ginger and Jill, mother-in law- Elayne, my mom- Judy, my sister- Kimberly, my niece's- Amber and Shaylynn, my friends- Liz, Maren, Shannon and Candace)

Gramercy Gab

We live in such an amazing neighborhood. It's a little piece of heaven in the middle of Ogden. Our neighbors are the friendliest and service oriented people which in turn makes us want to be that way as well. When we moved in, everyone stopped by the house to introduce themselves and say hi. We share and borrow everything including children and "grandparents". We have truly been blessed to have found this street and enjoy the people on it.
Every summer, we hold a Gramercy Gab night on mondays after family home evenings. It starts the monday after Memorial Day and ends at the end of August with our pool party. We gather on each other's lawns for a treat and some catch up chit chat. It is such a bonding experience and it helps us get to know the people we live by. We are grateful that our good friends and former neighbors, the Nielson's started this tradition and now that they've moved, we are happy to carry on this monday night get together.

Paige's preschool graduation

Paige had her preschool graduation. She was so cute about it and had been telling us about her part for a couple of weeks, even practicing the songs by singing them to us. She kept reminding us what day it was on and making sure that we would be there for her. She was little miss muffet (although I missed taping her because of my big fat pregnant body not getting up fast enough onto a chair to record her, ahh). She also played a piano solo of Yankee Doodle Dandee. We really need to get this musically inclined girl some lessons. She loved going to preschool and loved her teacher, Ms. Hill. She is such a smartie and can already read. She'll be starting on the second level of the "Sam" books. We are incredibly proud of her and are excited with her enthusiasm for learning.

Ashley turns 2

We were slackers this year when it came to Ashley's 2nd birthday. We did the same thing when Paige turned 2 due to my dad's illness, my pregnancy and we were in the middle of a move at the time. We really only wanted to be fair to the two of them, right??
I did get her to the doctor by her birthday which is pretty impressive for me. Here are her current stats: she weighs in at a whopping 22lbs 7oz, and is 33 inches tall.
She is such a fun and clever little girl. She is excited about everything in life and has so much enthusiasm. Everything she sees is amazing and she'll yell them out when she sees them ie- bikes, our car, dad, Paige, the moon, a plane, and our neighbor's dog, Kona.
Her morning routine is pretty funny and she usually spends it by my side. When she wakes up, she wants to know where Paige and Dad are. Then she will snuggle with me briefly while watching a short cartoon. Next, she's ready to eat but she won't eat her cereal, she'll want "bites" of mine. Then it's tub time which she takes off running to and will look behind her occasionally to make sure I'm following. After the tub, she'll make me chase her around the house to get her diaper and clothes on. She just likes to be naked and then when she finally consents to getting dressed, she wants to put her own diaper and clothes on. So independent. Next is hair which is always a challenge with a moving 2 year old, but we make it work. When I get in the shower, Ashley is right there helping me. She knows the minute the water turns off and is right there handing me my towel. If she's a little late, and I grab the towel myself, she'll make me give it to her so she can hand it right back. From then on, she is by my side the rest of the morning. She knows how to put contacts in her eyes, apply deoderant, put on a bra and connect it in the back, she'll pick out my clothes and shoes and is truly involved and curious about everything that I do.
She is such a helper by helping me load the dishwasher, pulling me out of the couch and will get anything I need. She is so silly as the pictures will show you and constantly makes me laugh. She idolizes her big sister and copies her all the time but don't let that fool you. She also likes to fight with her too. She is an aggresive little thing and is the nursery bully with her pinching, pushing, biting and scratching. Scott and I are the constant victims with scratches on our necks and faces when she's throwing a temper tantrum. We're working on it but it can be a little embarrassing when we go to pick her up from the babysitter and she's had a few episodes in time out. We love our little Ashley with her affectionate smile and excitement with life.
